L'estranea (2 screenings) Hall 2

L'Estranea, directed by Paolo Strippoli, tells the story of Anna (Jasmine Trinca), a woman who, during a storm, unexpectedly shows up at the Rome apartment of her daughter Alice (Romana Maggiora Vergano). She can no longer wait: she must confess a secret she has kept hidden for twenty years, a lie that has held their entire family history together and is now collapsing under the weight of its consequences.
The woman reveals that she made a pact with a mysterious Stranger to save Alice's life after a serious accident when she was a child. A pact that, like a curse, set off a long chain of dark and painful events. This confession, born out of an urgent desire to make amends, does not mend their relationship but shatters it.
Alice suddenly finds herself immersed in a reality where her very existence is the result of an unnatural bargain, and only she can help unravel the knot created by her mother. But doing so means accepting a price that could be unbearable.
