Toy Story 5, directed by Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris, brings Woody (original voice by Tom Hanks), Buzz (original voice by Tim Allen), Jessie (original voice by Joan Cusack), and the rest of the beloved gang back to the screen as they face a completely new challenge: technology.
After Sheriff Woody left Bonnie to help lost toys find new owners, Jessie has taken charge in Bonnie’s room, with Buzz Lightyear serving as her trusted deputy. However, the balance they have achieved is disrupted when Bonnie, now eight years old, receives a mysterious package and instantly falls in love with Lilypad (original voice by Greta Lee), a high-tech frog-shaped tablet. Smart, interactive, and irresistible, Lilypad quickly becomes the center of attention during playtime, seriously challenging the role and importance of traditional toys.
For Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang, Lilypad’s arrival represents a formidable rival, forcing them to confront change, redefine their place in Bonnie’s life, and discover what it truly means to be a toy in a world increasingly dominated by technology.
