Il Mio Nome è Riccardo Cocciante, the documentary directed by Stefano Salvati, explores the creative and musical genius of Riccardo Cocciante, going beyond the traditional account of his remarkable career.
The film immerses audiences in his artistic universe, offering an intimate and powerful portrait of a songwriter who has reinvented music for more than fifty years. The cameras follow Cocciante behind the scenes of major 2025 events at the Baths of Caracalla and the Verona Arena, capturing the heart of his live performances. At the same time, the documentary follows the artist through the creative process behind his new album of original songs, from the recording studio to sound research and experimentation, as well as the new staging of internationally acclaimed works such as Notre Dame de Paris and Giulietta e Romeo.
Alongside previously unseen archival footage retracing his career and contributions from leading artists, the film incorporates artificial intelligence tools to recreate moments from the past, offering a contemporary reflection on memory and the evolution of Cocciante’s artistic journey.
